tumblrbot said: WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?

I would simply say reading my bible, but it’s more than just reading. It’s finding that simple verse of story that relates to your situation and knowing that God knows and he is taking care of you ☺️

Oh gosh. This is a hard one for me to write about considering I am so beyond awful about this. We are so often caught up in worldly things, like watching TV. When we are busy with school and work and friends, reading the Bible can seem well…bothersome. Let’s face it. We convince ourselves that we’ll do it later or that we don’t need it that day. And then once we’re not growing spiritually we just sit back and wonder why. Then it hits you. No matter how strong of a Christian we are we still need to read God’s word. And it sounds easy, I mean just read our Bible…right? When Satan knows that we are trying to do good, he just throws more and more distractions at us. And we MUST resist. I’m not here to point fingers at you, for this is one of my struggles. But to be the Christians that God calls us to be we must be diligent in our growth.

One year ago today I lost my chorus teacher, my 2nd father and a great inspiration in my relationship with Christ. Chris Robinson passed away from cancer after fighting a long and terrible battle, but not before leaving a lasting impression on all that he taught. He constantly gave his testimony and his requests for his service were all directed towards leading people to Christ. I can’t wait to see him again someday!

Love you always Mr. R

My pit, my great weakness, my fatal flaw, whatever you want to call it has been staring me in the face for weeks. My love and need for Christ has not faltered, but my dedication has. How can I expect to be on the mountaintop with Christ when I can’t even pick up my Bible and concentrate on the words that provide everlasting life?! The change was noticeable…my family has made comments which brings me to the conclusion that I’ve always known. Without Christ you are nothing but a black pit of hate and envy. Without Christ to keep you on track what are you doing? But simply knowing this isn’t enough. You have to feel it and believe it with every inch of your being. To get out of my pit and back to the mountaintop where I belong I need dedication. Christ is always there waiting for us, pleading for us to come to him. All we need it the dedication.

Proverbs 13:20
As humans our attention is easily grabbed by unholy things, and yes that can mean people. Who are your influences? The people that influence you are the people who you interact with the most. Some have a large sphere of influence and some have a small…but they’re all there. You imitate your greatest influence. In turn we influence people we interact with everyday. You might be the only Bible people ever read, are you sending a good or bad message? Be careful about the company you keep, remember you values and boundaries and your ultimate goal to be more like Christ.

The Bible gives us a clear answer on who should be our greatest influence: Christ. In turn we should only be influenced by people who are living their lives for Christ.

Since we ARE so easily influenced & since we DO imitate those who influence us most, we should make sure we imitate those who live for the LORD.

"Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers DO make a difference."
